Umlando wakwa Gumbi

Abantu bakwaGumbi kusengabantu bakwaJele, lokho kuchaza ukuthi bangabaMbo Nguni ngokwezigaba zabeNguni. Ngesikhathi elakwaZulu liphethwe inkosi u-Senzangakhona kaJama umuntu owayebusa abantu bakwaJele nguZwangendaba kaZiguda, owayebuye abe ngumholi noma ngithi induna yebutho lenkosi uZwide elalaziwa ngokuthi ibutho lamaPhela. Phela abantu bakwaJele babengaphansi kombuso wenkosi uZwide ngaleso sikhathi. Babakhe laphaya phezu komfula iHluhluwe endaweni yaseMfekayi kuze kuyoshaya eChwebeni. Ngesikhathi elakwaZulu seliphethwe inkosi u-Shaka uZwide wahlaselwa iLembe ngoba ebulele uDingiswayo uShaka ayemthatha njengoyise ngoba phela kunguyena owamkhulisa. Kuleyompi uZwangendaba nomnawakhe wasekhohlo uSomkhanda kaZiguda babesekhaleni lempi. Impi kaShaka noZwide yalwelwa eMhlathuze yaze yaphelela kwaGqokli ngonyaka wa-1818. Wanqotshwa uZwide kuleyompi, ekwehlulweni kwakhe uZwide izinduna zakhe zabaleka zasabalala zagcwala izwe lonke nabalandeli bazo, zibalekela uShaka. UZwangendaba wabaleka noSomkhanda nesizwe sakwaJele babheka eSwazini beqhuba imihlambi yezinkomo.

Ekufikeni kwabo abakwaJele eSwazini bathola umfula iMbuluza eMnyama igcwele idla izindwani, igola nezintethe. AMaSwazi ayengaphesheya komfula iMbuluza eMnyama amemeza athi ukuze bawele abaKwaJele ababulale umuntu omkhulu ngokozalo, bamphose emfuleni khona uzobohla. USomkhanda wabona ukuthi kuzobanjwa yena abulawe ngoba uyinkosana yaseKhohlo, wabiza enye ingxenye yabantu baKwaJele wathi ababuyele emuva KwaZulu noSomkhanda, abanye basala eMhlosheni eSwazini njengoba sisekhona namanje isizwe saKwaJele khona eMhlosheni futhi sinenkosi yaso, uZwangendaba yena wawela umfula nabalandeli bakhe babheka enyakatho. Laba ababuyela KwaZulu sebeholwa nguSomkhanda bafike bazinza eMsuzwaneni (eGolela) emngceleni weSwazini nelaKwaZulu. Lapha bavumelana ngokuthi bangabe besazibiza ngokuthi ngabakwaJele ngoba uShaka wayezobabulala kodwa abazibize ngokuthi bangabakwaGumbi. AbakwaJele bayaphikisana ngokuvela kwaleli gama, uGumbi. Abanye abadala bakwaJele bathi ngenkathi sebebuya noSomkhanda eSwazini babehambe becasha emagumbini, base beba ngabakwaGumbi. Kanti abanye bakwaJele abadala bathi uGumbi kwakuyigama lenkosazana yakwaJele eyabe iyishinga, ishaya kwasani, eyabuyela KwaZulu noSomkhanda. Sebefikile eMsuzwaneni (eGolela) abalandeli bakaSomkhanda (sebezibiza ngabakwaGumbi hhayi abaKwaJele ) babulawa yisifo sikamalaleveva ngoba kwakuhlasele omiyane kuleya ndawo. USomkhanda wakhothamela lapho eGolela, isizwe sabe sesiholwa uNtini inkosana kaSomkhanda. UNtini lona wathatha inkosazana yakwabo uNomqiki wayiqhuba wathi ayiyogana uSambane inkosi yabakwaNyawo, USambane wabona ukuthi isizwe sakwaGumbi sibulawa ngumalaleveva eGolela, wathi abanyuke izintaba bazokwakha ezweni lakwaNyawo. AbakwaGumbi bafike bakha eSibhulubeni eMthonjeni kwelakwaNyawo.

Sebakhile kwaNyawo abakwaGumbi, inkosi uSambane wanxusa uNtini ukuba amsize ngamabutho ngoba uhlela ukuhlasela uLubelo inkosi yaKwaMngomezulu abakhelene nayo. Nangempela uNtini wawavivisa amabutho aKwaGumbi ahlasela uLubelo kanti uSambane uwagodlile awaKwaNyawo, akawakhiphile. Inkosi uLubelo wayenentelezi yempi, abaKwaGumbi bavele baduka enkungwini ngenkathi bethi bayamhlasela, amabutho aKwaMngomezulu aqola avungula kwawaKwaGumbi. UNtini wabuyela KwaNyawo wayoxabana noSambane ebuza ukuthi akawathumelanga ngani awakhe amabutho. Kuthiwa wathi “Hawu’ mlam’wami ungaze ungiholele emphandwini wengonyama nabantu bakababa? Uthi akuyohlaselwa uLubelo wena ujika uyasala.” Sebexabene uNtini noSambane abaKwaGumbi baduba balifulathela elaKwaNyawo baqombola izintaba zoBombo, bangenisa eZimbidleni ( KwaMyeni). Basuka KwaMyeni amabombo bawabhekisa KwaMandlakazi ngase Bhanganomo esifundeni saKwaNongoma endaweni okuthiwa kuKwaSiwela. UNtini nesizwe saKwaGumbi bahlala isikhathi eside KwaMandlakazi wakha khona umuzi waseMvokweni nowasekuLayezeni. UNtini waze wakhothamela khona Kwamandlakazi, esekhotheme isizwe saholwa yinkosana yakhe uNkomazana (ingobamakhosi). UNkomazana akahlalanga isikhathi eside emhlabeni wakhothama naye, kwase kubamba um’nawakhe uNomagonondo kaNtini ebambele inkosana kaNkomazana uSivumo owayesemncane ngaleso sikhathi. UNomagonondo KaNtini waba ngumngani omkhulu kaZibhebhu kaMaphitha laphaya eBhanganomo. Empini yaseSandlwana yomhla zingama-22 kumasingana ngonyaka we-1879 uZibhebhu kaMaphitha, uDundu kMawewe Nxumalo induna yaseMsebe noNomagonpndo kaNtini waKwaGumbi yibona ababehola amabutho aKwaMandlakazi eSandlwana.

Ngenkathi iSilo sas’Ondini uCetshwayo kaMpande edingiselwe epulazini i-Orde Molen eKapa waze wayobonana neNdlovukazi eNgilandi uDinzulu ( engakabi iSilo) wabekwa KwaMandlakazi, oPhanyekweni, eNdlovukazi uKhundlase.Abantu bakwaMandlakazi bamejwayela laphoke uDinuzulu .Ngenkathi sekukhotheme iSilo uCetshwayo ngoNhlolanja ngonyaka we-1884, uZibhebhu kaMaaphitha waxabana neSilo uDinuzulu.
